The appeal of the Assassin's Creed games is largely about style. Individuals from the Assassin Order wear robes and pointed hoods, are specialists in parkour, and have a notoriety for executing exceedingly showy public assassinations. Because of that, there's a great deal of enthusiasm among fans in at last seeing Michael Fassbender (who is both producing Assassin's Creed and assuming the lead part) wearing his Assassin robes. Well, looks like the wait is over.
Despite the fact that the hood not being exactly pointed, this is genuinely an exact recreation of the costume in the video game franchise, complete with twin hidden blades on Fassbender's wrists, throwing knives concealed on his shoulder, a bomb pouch at his waist and a sword on his hip – all weapons and tools that have been instrumental in Assassin's Creed gameplay.
The costume isn't the only reveal. The plot rumours-that we heard a while ago-have been confirmed by yahoo as well. To be specific, yahoo confirmed the rumour that the recorded part of Assassin's Creed will be set in fifteenth century Spain, around the season of the Spanish Inquisition. Its also said that Fassbender’s present day character is called Callum Lynch, and his Spanish ancestor is called Aguilar.
Ever since The Prince of Persia movie flopped, Ubisoft has been extra careful in producing their game movie adaptations. Ubisoft was interested to work with only a studio that was willing to let them have major creative control over the project. This faithfulness towards the source material can already be seen shining through the costume design itself.
Shooting on Assassin's Creed will start one week from now, with creation set to occur in London, Malta and Spain. Assassin's Creed will be the first movie Ubisoft Motion Pictures will be producing , in collaboration with Regency Pictures.
Assassin's Creed releases in the U.S on December 2016.
