Road construction workers in India killed a drunk man when they unintentionally buried him in a pit while repairing a road.
The road repair team failed to notice he had fallen into a hole on the side of the road in Sleemanabad, a town in Madhya Pradesh state.
Working at night, the laborers dumped gravel and an asphalt mixture into the pit, covering the man, before utilizing a large roller to smoothen the street, Const. Dhruvsingh Thakur said.
Villagers later saw a part of the man's hand in the road and police uncovered his body on Monday. The man, in his mid-30s, had gone to a town fair and later stopped by an alcohol store. He was heading home when he fell into the pit and lost consciousness, his neighbours told Thakur.
Two workers of the road repair team were arrested and have been accused of murder.
Inadequately kept up streets with large potholes are regular in India...so is carelessness and drunk people.
