George Miller (Mad Max directorial fame) is rumored to be up for the directing job on Warner Bros.' sequel to Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.
As indicated by The Death of Super Man Lives chief John Schnepp, Warners is up and going with Man of Steel 2 and wants the Mad Max helmer in the driver's seat.
"George Miller, he's doing Man of Steel 2," Schnepp said on the most recent episode of Popcorn Talk's DC Movie News show. "Clearly Zack Snyder is doing Justice League 1 and 2, and as of now got James Wan doing Aquaman. Yet better believe it I think George Miller is a flawless decision to do Man of Steel 2, he's going to bring so much to it".
While Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice will occur after the events of the first Man of Steel, Warner Bros. is believed to still be arranging a fitting continuation based on Henry Cavill's character.
This would not be the first time that the Mad Max director was connected to the DC Comics universe. In 2007, George Miller was in line to direct Justice League: Mortal, which was to exist alongside Christopher Nolan's Batman movies at the time. A cast was lined up (with Armie Hammer as Batman, DJ Cotrona as Superman, Adam Brody as The Flash, Common as Green Lantern, Teresa Palmer as Talia Al Ghul, Zoe Kazan as Iris Allen, Mad Max: Fury Road's Megan Gale and Hugh Keays-Byrne as Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter separately, and Jay Baruchel as miscreant Maxwell Lord,) however the whole idea was neglected.
